The design concept of "dedicated production line, zero cross-contamination" impressed the business leaders present.
The participants expressed great interest in automated equipment and quality control systems, engaging in in-depth discussions with Chairman Lu Gentian on topics such as sustainable energy applications, waste recycling, and digital management. Participants from the catering industry also consulted General Manager He Ming'e on plant-based product development, innovation, and market strategy.
41In 2018, the food industry cultivated five major brands and demonstrated its diversified strength
Chairman Lu Gentian said that Lan Yang Food was founded in 1984 and has been deeply involved in the food industry for 41 years, supplying major domestic five-star hotels, chain restaurants, convenience stores, and hypermarkets, and also exporting to more than 30 countries around the world.
He said that the company owns five major brands, including "Master Hai", "Hua Jin Ji", "Lantian", "Lantian Vegetarian Food" and "Omi Market". Among them, "Lantian Vegetarian Food" is a fully vegetarian brand, with products covering staple foods, soups, side dishes, sauces and desserts, etc., to meet consumers' diverse vegetarian needs.
Lu Gentian noted that in response to the growing trend toward healthy eating and sustainable development, Lan Yang Foods established an independent vegetarian production facility in 2019 to ensure consumers have peace of mind. The facility has passed four major international certifications: HACCP, EU, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000. The facility also boasts its own laboratory, where a professional quality control team ensures product quality.
Sustainable Vision Aligns with International Carbon Reduction Actions to Protect the Earth
Chairman Lu Gentian emphasized that Lan Yang Food’s sustainable actions cover four major aspects: "sustainable energy", "environmental protection", "social welfare" and "corporate governance", and practice the company's original intention of "taking from society and giving back to society".
"A vegetarian diet is not just a choice, but also a commitment to the sustainability of the earth," said Lu Gentian. The company continues to develop in the three major directions of "sustainability", "cleanliness" and "vegetarianism", hoping that through delicious vegetarian dishes, more consumers will join the ranks of carbon reduction and jointly protect the earth's resources.
A new paradigm for industry-university collaboration: AI combined with sustainable development
Lin Yinan, Executive Director of Tamkang University's Office of Extended Education, noted that digitalization and sustainable development are essential for businesses, and the use of AI technology can accelerate innovation and transformation. Lan Yang Food's visit exemplifies the integration of course theory and practice. By sharing Lan Yang Food's successful experience in the plant-based food industry, it provides valuable insights for other participating companies on their sustainable transformation journeys.
Corporate visits not only promote communication and cooperation among students, but also enable them to apply what they have learned in class to business operations, helping students break through career bottlenecks and promote the common progress of enterprises and society.
